How rescue coverage works

Rescue capability positioned where the work is happening, planned before anyone enters the space.

  1. Assess

We review the space, the hazards, the entry method and the work scope.

  2. Preplan

We develop or coordinate a space-specific rescue plan with your team.

  3. Deploy

We staff the team and bring the equipment the preplan calls for.

  4. Standby

The team stays onsite, set up and ready, for the covered entry operation.

  5. Respond

If an entrant needs rescue, the team executes the plan.

Who does the work

The division is led by a former industrial site safety manager and CMC-trained confined-space rescue technician. Rescue teams are staffed by career firefighters with real-world rescue experience, working under OCS procedures and on OCS equipment.

Built for facilities and the contractors who work in them

EHS managers, plant and maintenance managers, shutdown planners and project managers use OCS to cover safety and rescue requirements without adding permanent headcount.

Industrial cleaning, tank, mechanical, refractory and general contractors use OCS as their rescue and safety partner: you perform the work, and OCS supports the rescue and safety requirements. Contractor partnerships

Scope of rescue services. Rescue services are provided within OCS's documented capabilities and are subject to site-specific evaluation and rescue preplanning. Team size and rescue configuration are set by the preplan, not by a standard headcount.

OCS rescue is scheduled, onsite standby for planned entries. It is not an on-call or 911 emergency response service. The host employer and entry employer keep their responsibilities under their permit-required confined space programs.
